Engagement and Connection is Critical!

 In Awareness Blog

Recreation, engagement and connectivity plays a MUCH bigger role than what we give it credit for as a society until times like this, when we can’t imagine this situation being a part of our every day life and can only cope because we know it’s NOT permanent. Please remember this.. some of the factors that play into social isolation among disabled people (EVERY DAY) include: A lack of social contact with friends, a lack of emotional “connection” with friends and a lack of day-to-day participation in society as a whole due to accessibility issues, systemic barriers and exclusive practices. Many of those that we support are isolated – but not just now, always!

Please VALUE recreation (free time, access, opportunity) whatever you want to call it, and never take it for granted for yourselves or for others <3 www.recrespite.com
