As an introduction and presentation to the NEW RecreACTIVE program offered by Recreational Respite and with proud support of the Connect Learning Centre and the Humber College Massage Therapy Program.

Appointments last between 45 and 60 minutes

Recreational Respite will offer free massage therapy appointments to any individual with a developmental disability, Alzheimer’s or related dementias, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s or Stroke recovery clients every Tuesday starting September 13, 2011- November 29, 2011. A Humber College student massage therapist will use their knowledge and skills to conduct an assessment, develop a specific, treatment plan, deliver safe and effective massage techniques, and suggest home care strategies.

Community based therapeutic recreation programs. Our team has the ability to help individualize the goals and objectives for each participant, while creating a unique ‘leisure and learn’ model that proves both recreational and educational benefits in a supportive and creative environment. Our goal is to improve and enhance the quality of life for any individual with cognitive impairment (memory or acquired), physical challenges or developmental disability.
