Recreational Respite is excited to offer therapeutic recreation programs (goal driven) that we call RecreACTIVE. Our unique ‘leisure and learn’ model fosters both recreational and educational gains and is facilitated in a supportive and creative environment.  While the programming is completed in a small group setting (maximum of 10 participants), each client has focused and individualized goals and objectives within each program we develop and implement with our own Recreation Therapists.  The goal of each group program is to promote participation, inclusion and engagement with peers that have similar needs and interests.

Why Groups?IMG_3573

For many individuals, our program creates a unique opportunity to engage socially in a small group setting.  The skill in our team of Recreation Therapists serve to identify appropriate direction and needs in all of our programs. The small group setting promotes the development of new skills, self worth and role, and peer to peer relationships. It enables our clients to be actively engaged within their community.

Partnerships

Recreational Respite has partnered with many organizations, both for profit and not for profit, in an effort to enhance recreational programming and engagement opportunities to ensure that each individual receives personalized, goal oriented programs working towards their mental health, social, physical, developmental or intellectual needs. The results have been an incredible collaboration that has lead to optimal support for other professionals and innovative recreation programming and outreach initiatives benefiting participants direct: http://recrespite.com/outreachprojects/
