Recreational Respite is passionate about building capacity through education, advocacy for accessibility and inclusion and collaborative efforts through partnership. Our team strongly believes that all communities and their programs, products and services, should be accessible without barriers to all of those individuals (and their families) with disabilities.
We have been serving individuals and their families in various regions across Ontario Canada since 2008 in both 1:1 services and group programs. As a team, our experiences, collective educational backgrounds and extensive academics in Disability Studies we have been able to identify a great deal of need for direction, tools and collective innovation in delivery of services to share when working, serving or supporting our families and remove barriers.
This has led to our extensive work in the areas of leadership, education and training and keynote speaking. Our Founder, Amy MacFarlane has taken our values and passions within Canada and abroad to: Canada, USA, Kuwait, Australia and Scotland (to date) and has been recognized as an international leader in her field. Amy was nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award (in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).
If you are interested in having us come to share our expertise through training and workshops or public speaking in the areas of: accessibility, inclusion, participation and engagement, please contact us!
