The fair, co-ordinated in partnership with the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport and Older Adult Centres of Ontario, is an opportunity to learn more about local and provincial resources, and get tips and ideas on how to live well in the physical, mental, vocational, emotional, social and intellectual aspects of life. Come see and participate in interactive displays, presentations and demonstrations on:
Diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis
Nutrition and cooking
Health, fitness and wellness
Games and challenges
City programs & services such as fitness/active living, therapy pools, aquafit, swimming, skating, golf & more!
Why: It is estimated that over 60% of Ontarians do not meet the recommended guideline for physical activity. Studies show that people who are physically active live longer and lead healthier lives. They have significantly less risk of developing heart disease and other chronic health problems – leading to a better quality of life.
